The Island<\/b> of Elba<\/b> is the largest island of the Tuscan Archipelago and is known for its beautiful golden beaches and its azure<\/b> sea<\/b>.
\nOn its coasts are gulfs<\/b> and headlands<\/b> and is part of the Tuscan<\/b> Archipelago<\/b> National<\/b> Park<\/b>, one of the largest protected marine areas in Europe.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival at Portoferraio<\/b>, the main port of the island of Elba, we find two<\/b> large<\/b> forts<\/b> that guard the coast from above; they are the Fort<\/b> Falcone<\/b> and the Fort<\/b> Stella<\/b>, built by the Medici family, they were part of the island\u2019s defense network.
\nIn addition to beaches and seaside tourism<\/b>, the Island of Elba is full of historical remains<\/b> to be discovered; like the Palazzina<\/b> dei<\/b> Mulini<\/b> in Portoferraio, one of the two Napoleon<\/b> residences on the island of Elba.<\/p>\n
It is located between the two forts, it was built before the emperor\u2019s arrival and then, it was readjusted by him and used for receptions and parties.
\nThe structure is open<\/b> to<\/b> visits<\/b>, and inside there are the original<\/b> furnishings<\/b> and you can walk in the beautiful gardens<\/b> of the villa.<\/p>\n
On the promontory overlooking Portoferraio there is another of the many places of historical importance of the Island of Elba, the Roman Villa of the Caves<\/b>.
\nAn ancient Roman<\/b> domus<\/b> that included two levels with garden<\/b>, swimming<\/b> pools<\/b> and thermal<\/b> baths<\/b>.
